The first step in the Design Process
begins with a meeting in our studio to review the scope
of your project. We will review cabinetry and materials,
discuss budgeting for your new kitchen and a realistic
timeline for completion. The goal of this meeting is
for you to convey to us as many ideas and details as
possible about your project, enabling us to work up
a preliminary proposal for our next meeting.
Schematic
Designs— Conceptual Layouts
A second meeting will consist of a presentation of our
initial design concepts and a review of costs for that
proposal. At this time, a retainer is required to continue
work on your project.
Field
Visit — Project Planning
A job site visit will be scheduled to measure the existing
space or we will begin to work from architectural plans
if your project is an addition or a new home. This is
when the "real design" process begins.
Job
Meetings — Communication
Throughout the design phase, the meetings necessary
will vary depending on the complexity of the design
in addition to the details and revisions made to those
plans.
Final
Plans
We will provide your contractor/builder with detailed
plans necessary to plan for and to complete your project.
Project
Management
If New Canaan Kitchens is contracted to install your
cabinetry, we will receive cabinetry and make necessary
job site visits to review progress and completion.
